SPECIAL GROCERY LIST

Louise Redden, a poorly dressed lady with a look of defeat on her face, walked into a grocery store.

She approached the owner of the store in a most humble manner and asked if he would let her charge a few groceries.

She softly explained that her husband was very ill and unable to work, they had seven children and they needed food..

John Longhouse, the grocer, scoffed at her and requested that she leave his store at once.

Visualizing the family needs, she said: 'Please, sir! I will bring you the money just as soon as I can.'

John told her he could not give her credit, since she did not have a charge account at his store.

Standing beside the counter was a customer who overheard the conversation between the two. The customer walked forward and told the grocer that he would stand good for whatever she needed for her family.  The grocer said in a very reluctant voice, 'Do you have a grocery list?'

Louise replied, 'Yes sir.' 'O.K' he said, 'put your grocery list on the scales and whatever your grocery list weighs, I will give you that amount in groceries.'

Louise hesitated a moment with a bowed head, then she reached into her purse and took out a piece of paper and scribbled something on it. She then laid the piece of paper on the scale carefully with her head still bowed.

The eyes of the grocer and the customer showed amazement when the scales went down and stayed down.

The grocer, staring at the scales, turned slowly to the customer and said begrudgingly, 'I can't believe it.'

The customer smiled and the grocer started putting the groceries on the other side of the scales. The scale did not balance so he continued to put more and more groceries on them until the scales would hold no more.

The grocer stood there in utter disgust. Finally, he grabbed the piece of paper from the scales and looked at it with greater amazement.

It was not a grocery list, it was a prayer, which said:

'Dear Lord, you know my needs and I am leaving this in your hands.'

The grocer gave her the groceries that he had
gathered and stood in stunned silence.

Louise thanked him and left the store..  The other customer handed a fifty-dollar bill to the grocer and said; 'It was worth every penny of it. Only God Knows how much a prayer weighs..'

THE POWER: When you receive this, say a prayer. That's all you have to do.

Just stop right now, and say a prayer of thanks for your own good fortune.  Then please send this to all your friends and relatives.

I believe if you will send this testimony out with prayer in faith, you will receive what you need God to do in your and your families' life
.

So dear heart, trust God to heal the sick, provide food for the hungry, clothes and shelter for those that don't have as we do. Amen & Amen

Prayer is one of the best free gifts we receive.

There is no cost but a lot of rewards. God Bless!

I got this from an email and now would like to share it with you:

Dear Lord, I thank You for this day,

I thank You for my being able to see

and to hear this morning.

I'm blessed because You are

a forgiving God and

an understanding God.

You have done so much for me

and You keep on blessing me.

Forgive me this day for everything

I have done, said or thought,

that was not pleasing to you.

I ask now for Your forgiveness.

Please keep me safe

from all danger and harm.

Help me to start this day

with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude.

Let me make the best of each and every day,

to clear my mind so that I can hear from You.

Please broaden my mind

that I can accept all things.

Let me not whine and whimper

over things I have no control over.

And give me the best response

when I'm pushed beyond my limits.

I know that when I can't pray,

You listen to my heart.

Continue to use me to do Your will.

Continue to bless me that I may be

a blessing to others.

Keep me strong that I may help the weak...

Keep me uplifted that I may have

words of encouragement for others.

I pray for those that are lost

and can't  find their way.

I pray for those that are misjudged
and misunderstood.

I pray for those who

don't know You intimately.

I pray for those that will delete this

without sharing it with others

I pray for those that don't believe.

But I thank You that I believe

that God changes people and

God changes things.

I pray for all my sisters and brothers.

For each and every family member

in their households.

I pray for peace, love and joy

in their homes; that they are out of debt

and all their needs are met.

I pray that every eye that reads this

knows there is no problem, circumstance,

or situation greater than God.

Every battle is in Your hands for You to fight.

I pray that these words be received

into the hearts of every eye that sees it

in Jesus'  name.  Amen!

If you prayed this prayer,

Please share with as many people as you can...

God Bless ! ! ! ! !

So what do you think?

It was like hearing about the passing of a superhero..only now its for real. I just attended the wake of a good friend..Nonoy/Manny Distor was a lot of different things to many people, and rightly so. After the shock and disbelief upon hearing the news, I remembered some things about Manny and what he was like. He was a good friend. And beneath the occasional goofiness there was a depth of spirituality that speaks of his sincere love for God. You can see this in his relationships and the way he dealt with the people around him.

But most of all, without getting too weird or over spiritual, he was one of the few guys I knew to truly understand and live out some overused yet misunderstood words:

1. Cross (I believe he knew its true meaning and power, That's why many people tag him religious; yet he enjoyed life like everyone else..a somewaht offseting combination to some..nice one manny.)

2. Life (he lived and loved to the fullest- spirit, soul and body. always has an encouraging word from this guy.)

3. Passion (100% or more in almost everything he did. He went out doing the things he loved the most.)

4. Rest (He put his hope and trust in God; and even shared his faith with others).

Farewell buddy. We know you are now walking by sight and having a mighty good time with the Lord.

We will miss you.

"Ask me where I have been and I'll tell you: 'Things keep on happening.'.... "
-There's no forgetting <Pablo Neruda>

Speaking of good things happening..here's yet another nice story to share I found in the web:

Being nice is contagious
Submitted By: CDOG
Date Submitted: 8/25/2007

I live in a very over populated beach community in the Los Angeles area, and I love it here! But sometimes it’s easy to loose your cool. Today was a day I wish I did not get out of bed. I mean that if I did not have to wake up and deal with all the things that we deal with on a daily basis, it would have been wonderful. How ridiculous? Anyways, when I didn’t expect anyone to actually pay attention to me "CDOG" it happened! So what happened? I had a cup of joe in the morning and that was my meal for the AM, not healthy I know. Anyways, ol CDOG`s belly was grumbling like a concrete truck on an off day. So, I jumped in my car and decided to grab some food. So, I was inline at Taco Bell and the line is like SIX FLAGS ON LABOR DAY!!!!! So, finally I get to the mic to place my order and wouldn’t you know, this women in a nice sedan pulls in and is stuck in such a way that unless I moved for her, she wouldn’t be able to get out. So I backed up and waved her into my spot in the front of the line. To my surprise, this young gal did not wave to say thanks, I was cool with it because I thought to myself that I had done something nice for a change. After the gal received her food and pulled away, I pulled into the ordering spot, not mad, but hungry, and the employee said, "Dude, that girl just paid for your food." That taco and burrito were the most satisfying nourishment my body and mind had ever absorbed!!!!!! If Just by chance you are that person who bought my food- Thank you! We can change this world one person at a time.

GOD is GOOD and FAITHFUL!

Araneta Coliseum was packed to the rafters as the VCF Metro Manila churches converged for this event which happens but thrice a year. And what a celebration it was!

Pastor Steve delivered another stirring message which possibly had the longest title ever -"Purpose Driven Prison Break for your Best Life Now" . Long title, short message, but greatly impactful and inspiring. Talents Inc. led in showcasing the talents of VCF artists in the concert that followed.

Now everyone is looking forward to the eagerly anticipated EN07 World Conference in July.

Here are some photos of the convergence thru the lens of Senor Marco Pajo. Do check out the Pageman's Convergence Highlights and more photos from mi hermano marco's blogsite. Muchas Gracias!

Single and dateless on Valentine's Day? No problem...

Without exact, specific and topnotch directions it might take you a while before
getting to this humble basement boutique in Makati Avenue - the ILoveYouStore.

But last Valentine's day I discovered the reason for all the hoopla...and I have to conclude that there is no tinge of hype when they say that its the best value for money you can squeeze  out  of twenty bucks on this side of the literary universe.

From Vanni Liwang's random ramblings, to Syke's beat -driven political commentaries to Wawi Navarrosa's carefully chosen ballads and tracks ...it was poetry, song, rap, movement and stand-up humour all blended into one sonorous evening to define the meaning of love..not the least on a valentine's day.

If you have something to say through poetry, dance or song or if you have a listenong ear looking for raw truth expressed in various media..I
say bring it on and go to the next OpenSpoken...its an open mic affair and they even let you sign the tarpaulin if its your first time to perform.

As the say.. love is best served..open and spoken.
